August 5: The soft trend witnessed in international coal prices continued on August 4 on lack of fresh buying interest from major buyers, market sources said.
However, coking coal prices inched up a bit on some fresh enquiries even as CFR India prices for metallurgical coke softened in the absence of takers for imported met coke.
“There is hardly any bid for imported met coke from steel makers and as such offer prices are falling continuously,” a trader said.
