April 16: Spot price of South African steam coal spurted on April 15 despite limited deals even as rates in other markets remained largely unchanged, industry sources said.
The firmness in South African coal prices witnessed since the beginning of April may not sustain as overall indicators about the world economy continues to be bearish, they added.
