November 29: Spot price of South African standard coal (6,000 Kca/kg NAR) weakened further on November 28 on lack of major demand after remaining unchanged during the previous two days, industry sources said.
Prospects that supplies from Colombia will not be affected the way they were projected to, seems to be putting pressure on South African coal prices which had firmed up sharply from the middle of the previous week, they said.
However, off-spec material (5,500 Kcal/kg NAR) continued to firm up along with Australian and higher grades of Indonesian coal without any specific reason, they added.
