December 18: Spot coal prices showed a flat trend in the international markets on December 17 even as concerns over a faster slowdown in China’s economic growth impacted sentiment, market sources said.
In its latest report, Fitch Ratings warned that Chinese slowdown could affect the energy, shipping and steel sectors in the Asia Pacific market significantly in the coming days.
While coal prices remained largely flat, there was continued softness in the freight market, sources said.
