Steam coal exports via Chennai for 3rd month running

For the third month in a row, steam coal has been exported from Chennai Port.

In March 2016, a volume of 210 tons of the material went to Madagascar in a price range of Rs 6,640 – Rs 6,695 per ton, as per provisional information available with ICMW.

In February 2016, 50 tons were exported to Madagascar at a unit price of Rs 6,735, while a volume of 161 tons had been exported through Chennai Port in January 2016 and this time too the material went to Madagascar at Rs 6,640 per ton.

Prior to this, in June 2015, consignments had been sent to Oman in a band of Rs 30,012 – Rs 31,121 per ton.
