Steam coal imports via Chennai show huge drop in Nov

December 16: Steam coal imports via Chennai port dropped drastically to a mere 82 tons in November 2013 against 426,263 tons reported in October 2013, as per provisional data available with ICMW.

There were no imports of this commodity in September.

In November, the entire volume arrived from Venezuela at a unit price of Rs 20,776 ($329) per ton.

In October, the entire consignment arrived from Indonesia in a price band of Rs 2,838 – Rs 5,482 ($46-$88)
