Steam coal imports through Dahej Port for financial year 2015-16 (April-March) stood at 11,232,142 tons, showing a sharp increase over 1,988,940 tons seen for the same period of last fiscal, though for seven months there were no data available.
Steam coal imports through the port increased by 3.46% month-on-month to 767,627 tons in March 2016 from 741,008 tons in February 2016, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
The same stood at 1,203,015 tons in March 2015.

In March 2016, a volume of 546,117 tons came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,207 to Rs 3,886 ($3- $56) per ton, 54,748 tons from South Africa at a price range of Rs 4,028 ($53) per ton. Details on the remaining 166,762 tons were not available.
In February 2016, a volume of 586,128 tons came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,372 - Rs 4,141 ($35- $60) per ton and 3,550 tons from South Africa at a unit price of Rs 3,660 ($53) per ton. Details on the remaining 151,331 tons were not available.
