Steam coal imports via Ennore down 40% in Aug m-o-m

September 26: Steam coal imports through Ennore Port dropped 40.37% to 799,111 tons in August 2014 against 1,340,278 tons in July 2014, as per information available with ICMW.
Imports of the material in August 2013 stood higher at 902,986 tons.
In the first five months of the current financial year (2014-15), non-coking coal imports through the port stood at 5,193,513 tons against 2,684,698 tons imported during the same period in 2013-14.
Following is the monthly break-up of steam coal imports via Ennore Port in FY’14 and FY’15:

In August, the entire volume of steam coal arrived from Indonesia in a range of Rs 2,397 – Rs 5,633 ($39-92) per ton.
In July too, all the consignments arrived from Indonesia but in a range of Rs 2,747 – Rs 5,501 ($45-91) per ton.
