Steam coal imports via Ennore drop 11.11% in June m-o-m

July 22: Steam coal imports through Ennore Port dropped 11.11% to 967,308 tons in June 2014 against a volume of 1,088,296 tons reported in May, 2014, as per information available with ICMW.

Imports of the material in June 2013 stood much lower at 495,321 tons.

In the first three months of the current financial year (2014-15), non-coking coal imports through the port stood at 3,054,124 tons against 1,078,785 tons imported during the same period in 2013-14.

Following is the monthly break-up of steam coal imports via Ennore Port in FY’14 and FY’15:

In June, all the consignments arrived from Indonesia in a price band of Rs 2,882 – 5,482 ($48-92) per ton.

In May too, all the consignments arrived from Indonesia but in a price range of Rs 2,820-Rs 5,532 ($47-$91) per ton.
