Steam coal imports via Ennore up 28.46% in Aug m-o-m

September 17: Steam coal imports through the port of Ennore stood at 902,986 tons in August 2013 against 702,927 tons reported in July, up 28.46%, as per information available with ICMW.

With this, steam coal imports during the first five months of 2013-14 were at 2,684,698 tons while the figure stood at 1,466,649 tons during the corresponding period of the previous financial year.

Following is the monthly break-up of steam coal imports via Ennore port in FY'13 and FY'14:

In August, the entire consignment arrived from Indonesia in a price range of Rs 2,396-Rs 5,719 ($40-$92) per ton.

In July 2013, too, the entire consignment came in from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,446-Rs 5,621 ($41-$94) per ton.
