Steam coal imports via Ennore up 6.08% in April m-o-m

May 26: Steam coal imports through the port of Ennore rose 6.08% to 998,520 tons in April 2014 against 941,267 tons recorded in March, as per information available with ICMW.

Imports of the material in April 2013 stood much lower at 301,101 tons.

Total steam coal imports during the entire fiscal of 2013-14 were at 7,831,591 tons.

Following is the monthly break-up of steam coal imports via Ennore Port in FY’14 and FY’15:

In April, all the consignments arrived from Indonesia in a price band of Rs 2,873 - Rs 5,624 ($47-91) per ton while in March all the consignments came in from Indonesia as well but in a price band of Rs 2,190 - Rs 5,767 ($35-92) per ton.
