Steam coal imports via Ennore up 7.22% in Feb m-o-m

March 12: Imports of non-coking coal through Ennore Port stood at 1,046,722 tons during February 2014, up 7.22% from 976,269 tons imported during the previous month, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In February 2013, total non-coking coal imports via the port stood at 135,102 tons.
During the first 11 months of the current financial year (2013-14), total imports of non-coking coal stood at 7,203,629 tons against 2,988,299 tons during the corresponding period of the previous financial year.

During February 2014, 111,543 tons came from China at a price of Rs 3,618 ($57) per ton while 935,179 tons came in from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 3,146-Rs 5,551 ($50-$88) per ton.
However, in January, the entire material came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,978-Rs 5,779 ($48-$93) per ton.
