Steam coal imports via Ennore up 8.99% in May m-o-m

June 17: Steam coal imports through Ennore Port rose 8.99% to 1,088,296 in May, 2014, against 998,520 tons reported in April, as per information available with ICMW.

In March, 2014 steam coal import through the port stood at 941,267 tons.

Imports of the material in May 2013 stood much lower at 282,363 tons.

In the first two months of the current financial year (2014-15), non-coking coal import through the port stood at 2,086,816 tons as against 583,464 tons imported during the same period of 2013-14.

Following is the monthly break-up of steam coal imports via Ennore Port in FY’14 and FY’15:

In May, all the consignments arrived from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,820-Rs 5,532 ($47-$91) per ton.

In April, all the consignments arrived from Indonesia in a price band of Rs 2,873 – Rs 5,624 ($47-91) per ton while in March all the consignments came in from Indonesia as well but in a price band of Rs 2,190 – Rs 5,767 ($35-92) per ton.
