Steam coal imports via Gangavaram fall 33.36% m-o-m in March

April 9: Steam coal imports via Gangavaram Port stood at 135,545 tons in March 2014, down 33.36% from 203,389 tons reported in February 2014, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
With this, imports through the port during 2013-14 stood at 4,394,796 tons, lower from 4,612,461 tons recorded in 2012-13.

During the month of March, the entire material came in from South Africa within a price range of Rs 4,797-Rs 6,111 ($78-$99) per ton while in February 2014, 53,378 tons came from Indonesia at a price of Rs 4,663 ($75) per ton while the balance 150,011 tons came from South Africa at a price range of Rs 4,643-Rs 11,125 ($75-$177) per ton.
