Steam coal imports via Gangavaram fall 54.86% m-o-m in Nov

December 9: Steam coal imports via Gangavaram port fell 54.86% to 143,464 tons in November 2013 from 317,849 tons in October 2013, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
With this, imports through the port during the first eight months (April-November) of 2013-14 stood at 3,754,110 tons higher from 2,535,344 tons during corresponding period of 2012-13.

During November 2013, 75,268 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 4,774-Rs 4,820 ($77-$76) per ton while 68,196 tons came from South Africa at a price range of Rs 5,126-Rs 5,621 ($81-$89) per ton.
However, in October 2013, 32,000 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 474-Rs 4943 ($76-$79) per ton, 146,789 tons came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 482-Rs 461 ($73-$77) per ton while 139,060 tons came from South Africa at a price range of Rs 5,071-Rs 5,817 ($81-$92) per ton.
