Steam coal imports via Gangavaram fall 9.12% m-o-m in Oct

November 26: Steam coal imports via Gangavaram port fell 9.12% to 317,849 tons in October 2013 from 349,762 tons in September 2013, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
With this, imports through the port during the first seven months (April-October) of 2013-14 stood at 3,610,646 tons higher from 1,966,027 tons during corresponding period of 2012-13.

In October 2013, 32,000 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 4774-Rs 4943 ($76-$79) per ton, 146,789 tons came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 4582-Rs 4961 ($73-$77) per ton while 139,060 tons came from South Africa at a price range of Rs 5071-Rs 5817 ($81-$92) per ton.
However, during August 2013, 182760 tons came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 3802-Rs 4383($61-$69) per ton while 167,002 tons came from South Africa at a price range of Rs 5099-Rs 5,789 ($79-$91) per ton.
