Steam coal imports via Gangavaram up 33.06% m-o-m in Jan

February 26: Steam coal imports via Gangavaram Port stood at 172,277 tons in January 2014, up 33.06% from 129,475 tons reported in December 2013, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
With this, imports through the port during the first 10 months of 2013-14 stood at 4,055,862 tons, higher from 3,856,711 tons recorded during corresponding period of 2012-13.

During January 2014, 76,280 tons came from Indonesia at a price of Rs 4,656 ($75) per ton while the rest of 95,997 tons came in from South Africa at a price range of Rs 5,622-Rs 6,041 ($90-$97) per ton.
However, in December 2013, 25,400 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 4,775-Rs 4,820 ($77) per ton while 104,075 tons came from South Africa at a price range of Rs 5,680-Rs 5,771 ($90-$93) per ton.
