Steam coal imports via Kandla up 10.51% in June m-o-m

July 21: Steam coal imports through the port of Kandla stood at 671,593 tons in June 2014, up 10.51% from 607,699 tons imported in May, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
Imports of steam coal through the port during June 2013 stood at 782,104 tons.
Imports of steam coal through the port during the first three months of FY’15 stood at 1,709,306 tons while the same stood at 1,715,384 tons during the same period last year.

During June 2014, 519,381 tons of steam coal came in from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,442-Rs 6,105 ($40-$102) per ton while the balance 152,212 tons came in from South Africa at a price range of Rs 5,240-Rs 5,693 ($87-$94) per ton.
However, in May 2014, 35,000 tons came in from South Africa at a price range of Rs 4,880-Rs 5,469 ($80-$90) per ton while 572,699 tons came in from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,443-Rs 4,883 ($41-$81) per ton.
