Steam coal imports via Magdalla fall 4.72% in FY16

Imports of steam coal via Magdalla Port were down 4.72% to 5,225,930 tons in fiscal 2015-16 against 5,484,802 tons in 2014-15, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

Imports of the material via the port rose 106.09% to 661,154 tons in March 2016, against 320,805 tons seen in February 2016.

In March 2016, a volume of 133,000 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 4,767 - Rs 5,150 ($69-$76) per ton and a volume of 528,154 tons came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 1,673 - Rs 3,685 ($25-$55) per ton.

In February 2016, a volume of 70,000 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 5,184 - Rs 5,351 ($75-$78) per ton, a volume of 233,136 tons came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,050 -Rs 4,474 ($30-$65) per ton and 17,669 tons from other places while the price range for some were not available.
