April 14: Imports of non-coking coal via Magdalla Port shot up by more than 5 times in March 2015 to 423,015 tons compared to only 65,015 tons imported in February 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In March 2015, a total of 70,000 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 6,260- Rs 6,447 ($99-$103), 17,000 tons from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 3,310 -Rs 3,407 ($53-$54) per ton and 336,015 tons from other places as well.
In February 2015, a volume of 20,000 tons came from Australia at a unit price of Rs 6,447 ($103), 12,000 tons from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,902 -Rs 4,570 ($46-$73) per ton, 20,000 tons from South Africa at a price range of Rs 5,904 -Rs 5,918 ($95) per ton, amongst others.
