Steam coal imports via Mormugao up 10.39% in Jan m-o-m

February 25: Imports of non-coking (steam) coal via Mormugao Port stood at 82,236 tons during the month of January, up 10.39% against 74,495 tons recorded during the previous month, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

However, in January 2013, non-coking coal imports via the port stood at nil.

During January 2014, the entire quantity came from Australia at a price of Rs 7,649 ($123) per ton.

However, in December 2013, the entire material came in from Australia at a price of Rs 8,241 ($132) per ton while during November 2013, the entire material came in from Australia at a price of Rs 7,008 ($111) per ton.
