Steam coal imports via Mumbai up 12% in Sept m-o-m

October 29: Steam coal imports through the port of Mumbai rose 11.77% to 240,866 tons in September 2014 against a volume of 215,496 tons reported in August, as per information available with ICMW.
Imports of the material in September 2013 stood at 218,696 tons.
With this, in the first six months of the current financial year (2014-15), non-coking coal imports through the port stood revised at 1,971,043 tons compared to 1,808,036 tons imported during the same period of 2013-14.

In September, all the consignments arrived from Indonesia in a price range of Rs 2,998 – Rs 4,539 ($49-74) per ton.
In August, all the consignments arrived from Indonesia in a price band of Rs 3,206 – Rs 4,865 ($52-80) per ton.
