December 23: Steam coal imports through the port of Mundra rose 12.07% to 1,347,202 tons in November 2013 from 1,202,132 tons in October 2013, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
Steam coal imports through the port stood at 1,403,763 tons during November 2012.
The import of steam coal through Mundra in the first eight months (April-November) of 2013-14 stood 13,322,618 tons against 6,220,972 tons recorded in the same period in the previous financial year.

In November 2013, 135,674 tons came from South Africa at a price range of Rs 5,353-Rs 6,136 ($85-$97) per ton, 131,731 tons came from the US at a price range of Rs 7,090-Rs 7,719 ($112-$124) per ton, 1,079,797 tons came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,912-Rs 5,929 ($46-$94) per ton.
However, during October 2013, 1,179,132 tons came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,773-Rs 5,277 ($44-$84) per ton and 23,000 tons came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 5,319-Rs 5,717 ($86-$92) per ton.
