Steam coal imports via Paradip drop sharply m-o-m in Sept

October 10: Imports of steam coal through the port of Paradip in September 2013 dropped sharply to 2,040 tons against 435,036 tons recorded in August 2013, as per information available with ICMW.
With this, during the first six months of FY'14, total steam coal imports via the port stood at 3,251,728 tons against 3,213,338 tons imported in the same period last year.
Total steam coal imports during the entire financial year of 2012-13 stood at 7,349,688 tons.

During September, The entire material came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,588 - Rs 2,737 ($40-$42) per ton whereas in August, the entire consignment arrived from Indonesia in a price range of Rs 2,821–Rs 4,996 ($45-$81) per ton.
