January 8: Steam coal imports via Pipavav Port fell 68.60% to 85,014 tons for the month of December 2014 against a volume of 270,777 tons in November, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In December, 26,563 ton of coal arrived from South Africa at Rs 4,538 ($71) a ton. However, details of balance 58,451 tons were not available.
In November, 216,130 tons arrived from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 4,870-4,925 ($78-$80) and 54,647 tons from South Africa at a price range of Rs 5,467-Rs 5,480 ($88-$89).
