April 8: Spot prices of steam coal remained largely stable in the international markets on April 7 amidst a balanced pattern detected in bids and offers, industry sources said.
Indian companies were quite active as they are in the process of finalising deals to stock the material before the monsoon sets in even as government tenders, as reported by ICMW in February, are not materialising.
