May 5: Strong demand was witnessed for G5 grade coal (GCV range 5,801 to 6,100 Kcal/kg) in the April 2015 spot e-auction on coaljunction as more than 95% of the total offered quantity got allotted at a weighted average price of Rs 3,795 per ton.
Fair demand was witnessed for G5 grade in March 2015 on coaljunction as nearly 90% of the total offered quantity got allotted at a weighted average price of Rs 3,787 per ton.
The offered quantity during the month of April rose to 192,230 tons from 142,660 tons in March and the allotted quantity increased to 183,380 tons from 127,340 tons in March.
In April, the weighted average price was down by Rs 92 per ton from Rs 3,887 per ton in March.
In February 2015, a total of 265,434 tons of G5 grade was offered on this platform of which 178,400 tons got allotted at a weighted average price of Rs 4,152/ton.
