February 7: Continued firmness was witnessed in spot South African coal prices in the aftermath of reduced cargo availability, following disturbances in loading through RBCT due to power outage and also because of expectations of higher enquiries from China once they come back to the market on February 10 after the holidays, industry sources said.
Australian coal prices softened a bit, but Indonesian varieties too firmed up on expectations of Chinese interest, they added.
