TNGDCL floats NIT to procure 3.7 mt imported steam coal

November 8: Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (TNGDCL) has floated a notice inviting tender (NIT) to procure 3.7 million tons (mt) of imported steam coal of any origin (2.8 mt + shipping tolerance for Ennore/ Karaikal port and 0.9 mt + shipping tolerance for VOC port/ Tuticorin), according to information available with ICMW.

The material is to be delivered from March 2014 to August 2014, the tender notice said.

The imported steam coal to be procured may be of any foreign origin and should have a GCV of 5,800-6,700 Kcal/Kg (ADB), 7-23% total moisture, 30-50% fixed carbon, 25-42% volatile matter, 0.3-0.8% total sulphur while the size of the material should vary between 0-50 mm.

Interested parties can submit their bids within December 16, 2013 up to 2 pm while the bids will be opened on the same day at 2.30 pm.
