Tata Power commissions Dagachhu’s second unit

March 18: Tata Power, one of the major private sector power suppliers, commissioned the second unit of 63 MW of its 126-MW Dagachhu Hydro Power Corporation (DHPC) in Bhutan, the company said in a statement on March 17.
With this, the project has achieved full commissioning.
Unit 1 of the project of 63 MW was commissioned recently.
Dagachhu is a joint venture between Tata Power and Druk Green Power Corporation, owned by the Royal Government of Bhutan and the National Pension and Provident Fund of Bhutan.
DHPC has entered into a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Tata Power Trading Company Limited (TPTCL) a company of Tata Power for the sale of power from the project.
