Tata Power commissions micro hydro project in Maharashtra

February 13: Tata Power, one of the major integrated power companies in India, recently commissioned a 10-kW micro hydro project in the tailrace (a watercourse that carries water away from a mill or water wheel or turbine) of the 150-MW Bhira hydro power station in Maharashtra, the company said in a statement. 

The low-head micro-hydro turbine would utilise the existing flow rate available to generate supplementary clean energy to manage its auxiliary loads, the company statement said.
