Thar coal power project should be completed quickly, says Sindh CM Qaim

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has instructed the Thar Coal Energy Board to remove the barriers that are in way of completion of Thar Coal Power Project,

CM Sindh, chairing the 19th meeting of Thar Coal Energy Board, said that the coal-based energy project was the former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, which has to be completed at any cost.

Managing Director of Thar Coal Energy Board informed the meeting that Block-I has been handed over to Sino-Sindh Global Mining Company where they will construct four 330 megawatt power plants costing Rs. 1.1 billion.

He added that Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company, with whom Sindh Government has 51 percent share, has also made an agreement on supplying gas to the project.
