The freight market keep dropping this week

The BDI down 12.48 percent week on week and closed at 631 points on 6 November 2015.

The Cape Index was down 18.39 percent for the same period and closed at 1003 points.

According to Fearnleys, the Cape size market, particularly, West Aussie / China is presently paying min US$ 4 Pmt level and Brazil / China is paying US$ 10 Pmt level. The tonnage supply side is simply too big and even if the market occasionally sees the mining companies fixing big volumes, it is not enough to push the market up.

The Panamax market remains weak this week. The Panamax index fell 10.66 percent to 603 points on Friday and the Supramax index closed at 571 points. The handy size index was down by about 7.45 percent and closed at 323 points.

The supramax charter rates from Indonesia to India were rated around US$ 5500 per day passing through Singapore. The Panamax vessels were rated around US$ 4000 per day delivery Shanghai.

The Cape size average charter rate was reported at around US$ 6102 per day, US$ 4823 per day for Panamax, US$ 5971 per day for Supramax and US$ 4722 per day for Handysize.

The three year future (2015-2018) was reported at around US$ 12000 per day for the Cape, US$ 8000 per day for Panamax, US$ 8000 per day for Panamax and US$ 7000 per day for Handysize.

The S8 route for Supramax was down 3.51 percent  week over week to US$ 5216 per day (last week US$ 5406 per day).

Indonesia to India freight rates are expected to be flat to soft next week.

The Brent crude oil price was up 4.32 pct this week ending 6 November compared to last Friday closing. The Brent price closed US$ 47.42 per barrel compared to US$ 49.56 per barrel same period last week).

The bunker prices were also up and week on week and closed at US$ 239.00 Pmt (IFO 380 CST ex Singapore on 6th Nov 2015).
