Three in fray for NTPC’s tender to procure imported coal on C&F basis

June 27: A total of three companies – Adani Enterprises, Drymax and Swiss Singapore – are in fray to supply 1.0 million tons of imported coal to NTPC’s Simhadri Power Plant on C&F basis, industry sources said.

NTPC had floated the tender in April and the last date for submission of bids was June 25.

Incidentally, NTPC is looking to procure coal on C&F basis on trial basis and as such had floated a separate tender inviting bids on C&F basis.

It had also floated separate tender inviting bids for handling of coal from port to power plants. In this tender a total of five bids have been received, the sources said.

“One bid for handling of coal from port to power plant is likely to be rejected and only four companies are likely to be in fray to win the tender for supply of coal from port to power plant,” the sources added.
