Thyssenkrupp to bring energy efficient mining equipment in Indian market

02 Dec 2013

December 2: Thyssenkrupp, one of the leading global companies manufacturing mining equipment, is set to change their positioning in the Indian market and is about to bring energy efficient mining equipment, B Dutta, Associate Vice President, Thyssenkrupp India Pvt. Ltd. told ICMW on the sidelines of a Indo-German Business symposium held recently in Kolkata.

"Due to the economic slowdown and devaluation of Indian currency with respect of USD and Euro, the domestic sector in India is also seeing a lull for the past few months. So, to bring about some strategic changes, we have decided to offer niche products for the mining industry in India," he said.

"In fact, we are ready to bring energy efficient mining equipment for the Indian mining sector. However, currently we are faced with some approval issues from the Government authorities," he added.

"We have talked to higher authorities of Coal India Limited (CIL) as well regarding our plans and new products. We are optimistic about the approvals," he further added.

Alongside the Indian market, Thyssenkrupp India is now looking at enhancing their market share in the south-east Asia as well.
