Traders sell Italian origin nut coke to ferro alloy maker

December 12: A Kolkata-based trader on December 11 sealed a deal to sell a small quantity of 4000 tons of ultra-low phosphorus net coke of 10-30 mm size at about $245 per ton cfr Haldia, according to information available with ICMW.

The material has been sold to a leading Ferro Alloy maker with headquarters in Kolkata and will be delivered through containers at Haldia port at the beginning of January. The loading is likely within this week.

The price of the material is on the higher side as phosphorus content is as low as around 0.012%. Industry sources said the phosphorus content of average Chinese nut coke is around 0.021% which comes at around $220 per ton cfr India.
