U.S. weekly coal production up marginally

United States the second largest coal producer in the world has produced approximately totaled an estimated 15.4 million short tons (mmst) of coal in a week (For the week ended June 13, 2015), EIA said in its latest report.
According to EIA’s latest report, this production estimate is 1.5% higher than last week's estimate and 17.3% lower than the production estimate in the comparable week in 2014.
East of the Mississippi River produced totaled an estimated 6.4 mmst (up 1.58% week over week) and west of the Mississippi River produced totaled an estimated 9 mmst (up 2.27% week over week) , according to weekly figures released by the US Energy Information Agency (EIA), on June 18, 2015.
U.S. year-to-date (as of June 13, 2015) coal production totaled an estimated 409.4 mmst, 8.3% lower than the comparable year-to-date coal production in 2014.
