V O Chidambaranar Port coal handling up 33.33% in Apr m-o-m

May 9: Coal handling at V O Chidambaranar Port stood at 744,000 tons during April 2014, up 33.33% from 558,000 tons handled during the previous month, according to a compilation by the Indian Ports' Association (IPA).

During April 2013, total coal handling at the port stood at 829,841 tons.

During entire 2013-14, total coal handled at the port stood at 9,299,572 tons whereas the figure was at 10,616,391 tons in 2012-13.
