V O Chidambaranar steam coal imports up 10% in Nov

December 19: Import of non-coking coal via V.O Chidambaranar port stood at 256,131 tons during the month of November 2014, up 9.67% from 233,542 tons imported in October, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

During the month, out of the entire material, 246,131 tons came in from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 3,535-Rs 5,552 ($57-$90) per ton whereas the rest of 10,000 tons came from South Africa at a price range of Rs 5,584-Rs 6,118 ($89-$91) per ton.

On the other hand, during October, 221,042 tons came from Indonesia at a price of Rs 4,822 ($77) per ton whereas 12,500 tons came from South Africa at a price of Rs 5,833 ($94) per ton.
