VISL bid submission date for 10,000 tons MAM coke extended

March 12: Steel Authority of India Limited’s Visvesvaraya Iron & Steel Plant (VISL), which had floated a request for quotation (RFQ) notice to procure 10,000 tons (+/-2%) of medium ash metallurgical (MAM) coke, has extended the bid submission date till March 25 up to 11 am.

The material to be procured should have 16% ash, 4% total moisture, 1% volatile matter, 0.65% sulphur, 0.03% phosphorus, 82% fixed carbon while the size should vary between 25-80 mm.

Supply of the material should be done on FOR Bhadravati basis and is to be supplied at the rate of 1/60th of the purchase order quantity per day minimum, starting within 7 days from the date of the purchase order. 

Earlier, the bid submission date was February 11, 2014 which has now been extended due to lack of interest from manufacturers and suppliers in participating in the RFQ, industry sources said.
