May 7: Imports of non-coking coal via VO Chidambaranar Port (Tuticorin Port) stood at 12,95,384 tons in April 2015, down 4.04% from 13,49,956 tons in March, 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
A volume of 616,769 tons of non-coking coal was imported via VO Chidambaranar Port in April 2014.

In April 2015, out of the total quantity, 84,744 tons came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,560 –Rs 5,633 ($41-$ 89) per ton, 328,054 tons came from Russia at a price range of Rs 4,170-Rs 5,654 ($66-$90) per ton and 5,000 tons from South Africa at a price of Rs 6,232 ($ 99) per ton while 877,586 ton came from other locations at price ranges not available.
On the other hand, in March 2015, out of the total quantity, 115,661 tons came from Indonesia with price range of Rs 3,276 –Rs 5,620 ($52-$ 89) per ton, 66,150 tons came from Russia at price range of Rs 4,100 ($65) per ton and 39,726 tons came from South Africa at a price range of Rs 3,523 – Rs 6,143 ($56-$ 98) per ton, 1,128,419 ton came from other places at price ranges not available.
