VO Chidambaranar FY16 anthracite imports 220 tons

Total imports of anthracite coal via VO Chidambaranar Port (Tuticorin Port) during 2015-16 (April-March) stood at 4,788 tons, against a volume of 100 tons imported between December 2014 and March 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

ICMW do not have data for first eight months (April-November) of 2014-15.

On the other hand, there was no import of the material via the port for the third consecutive months in March 2016.

In December 2015, out of the entire volume of 69 tons, 35 tons had come from the UK at a price of Rs 26,338 ($392) per ton and 34 tons from Vietnam at Rs 15,808 ($237) per ton.
