Imports of pet coke via V O Chidambaranar Port (Tuticorin Port) shot up 289.66% to 925,809 tons in fiscal 2015-16 against 237,597 tons in 2014-15, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
Similarly, imports of the material via the port were up 28.11% at 76,700 tons in March 2016 against 59,870 tons seen in February 2016.

In March 2016, a volume of 17,000 tons had come in from the US at a price range of Rs 5,090- Rs 5,203 ($75-$75) per ton and 59,700 tons from other locations at price ranges not available.
In February 2016, a volume of 22,000 tons had come in from the US at a price range of Rs 5,090- Rs 5,165 ($74-$75) per ton and 37,870 tons from other locations at price ranges not available.
