Imports of pet coke via V O Chidambaranar Port (Tuticorin Port) stood at 59,870 tons in February 2016, showing a sharp increase of 250.54% month-on-month from 17,079 tons imported in January 2016, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
For the first 11 months (April- February) of the current fiscal (2015-16), pet coke imports via this port stood at 849,109 tons against 222,597 tons seen in the same period of the previous fiscal (2014-15).

In February 2016, a volume of 22,000 tons had come in from the US at a price range of Rs 5,090- Rs 5,165 ($74-$75) per ton and 37,870 tons from other locations at price ranges not available.
In January 2016, the entire volume of 17,079 tons came in from the US at a price range of Rs 5,090 - Rs 5,636 ($75-$84) per ton.
