VO Chidambaranar coal handling up 26% in Jan

February 10: Coal handling at VO Chidambaranar Port stood at 689,000 tons during the month of January 2015, up 26.42% from 545,000 tons handled during December 2014, a compilation by the Indian Ports’ Association (IPA) revealed.

In January 2014, coal handled by the port stood at 447,000 tons.

During the first 10 months (April-January) of 2014-15, total coal handled by the port stood at 6,837,000 tons whereas the figure stood at 8,169,572 tons during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
