February 11: Imports of non-coking coal via VO Chidambaranar Port (Tuticorin Port) stood at 518,532 tons during the month of January 2015, down 18.36% from 635,183 tons imported in December, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In January 2015, out of the total quantity, 164,202 tons came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 3,377-Rs 5,632 ($53-$88) per ton, 7,000 tons came from South Africa at a price range of Rs 5,284-Rs 5,646 ($85-$90) per ton amongst others.
However, in December 2014, 159,400 tons came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 5,516-Rs 5,713 ($84-$89) per ton, 14,500 tons came in from South Africa at a price range of Rs 5,416-Rs 6,172 ($85-$94) per ton amongst others.
