Very strong demand was witnessed for washery grade (W2, W3 and W4) coking coal offered by Central Coalfields Ltd (CCL) for allotment through coaljunction in March 2016, as per data available with ICMW.
Out of the entire offered quantity of 177,150 tons during March 2016, a volume of 134,380 tons got allotted.
The weighted average price rose to Rs 2,420 per ton in March 2016 against Rs 2,411 per ton in February.
Meanwhile, strong demand was witnessed for washery grade coking coal offered by Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) and CCL for allotment through coaljunction in February 2016.
Out of the entire offered quantity of 185,250 tons during February 2016, a volume of 100,820 tons got allotted.
However, the weighted average price fell to Rs 2,411 per ton in February 2016 against Rs 2,756 per ton in January.
Similar kind of strong demand was witnessed for washery grade (W3) coking coal offered by BCCL and CCL for allotment through coaljunction in January 2016.
Out of the entire offered quantity of 129,550 tons during January 2016, a volume of 114,800 tons got allotted.
However, the weighted average price rose to Rs 2,756 per ton in January against Rs 2,748 per ton in December.
