Very low demand for G10 grade coal in August e-auction

September 27: There seemed to be very poor demand in August 2013 for G10 grade (GCV 4,301 to 4,600 Kcal/kg) coal offered by Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) and Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) – subsidiaries of Coal India Limited (CIL) – for allotment through MSTC platform as only 5,350 tons out of the offered quantity of 60,000 tons got allotted
However, in July, there seemed to be a strong demand for G10 grade coal offered by Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) and Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) as 187,114 tons out of the offered quantity of 191,064 tons got allotted.
