Vizag Port may double pet coke handling post-WQ6

January 13: Vizag Port expects to double its pet coke handling after the commissioning of WQ6 berth in early March or end- February, an official from the port told ICMW.

“Now we are handling around one million tons of pet coke per annum. After the berth is commissioned we will double up operation,” he said.

The berth, constructed by ABG Limited with a capacity of 2.08 mt, will mainly handle pet coke, bauxite and gypsum, the official said.

He added that ABG has brought two mobile harbour cranes from China. One of them has already been laid on the shore and the second is likely to get laid soon.
