Vizag’s Nov met coke imports drop sharp 75% m-o-m

 December 8: Met coke imports through Vizag Port in November were at a mere 6,000 tons against 24,243 tons in the preceding month of October, showing a sharp plunge of 75.25%, as per provisional data available with ICMW.

 Import volumes of this commodity have been fluctuating wildly since the beginning of the current fiscal.

Imports in November 2014 were, however, at nil.

Total imports of the material for the first eight months (April-November) of the current fiscal of 2015-16 were at 150,744 tons against 86,747 tons reported in the same period of the previous fiscal (2014-15), showing a growth of 74% year-on-year.

Total imports of the material in 2014-15 were at 86,747 tons.

 Following is the monthly break-up of met coke imports via Vizag Port in 2015-16 and 2014-15:

November saw all the consignments arriving from China in a band of Rs 10,321 – Rs 10,455 ($157 -160) per ton.

In October, all the consignments arrived from China too but in a band of Rs 9,887 – Rs 10,794 ($147 -161) per ton.
